Diplomate Membership
Becoming a higher-level Diplomate member of the ICOI requires a significant amount of education, training and experience in implant dentistry, along with a commitment to ongoing professional development and high ethical and clinical standards. - A minimum of 150 hours of continuing education in implant dentistry,
- A minimum of five years of experience in implant dentistry,
- Completion of at least 20 successful cases, with a minimum of one-year follow-up,
- Passing a comprehensive written and oral examination that covers various aspects including diagnosis and treatment planning, surgical and restorative techniques, and implant maintenance and complication management. The oral examination consist of a case presentation where the candidate presents and defends their treatment plan and clinical results for two implant cases they have completed.
This level entitles Dr. Kim to receive ICOI research grants as well, if desired.
